A booking photograph is an identification image made during detention processing. Kentucky's Attorney General describes booking photographs and photographic inmate records as falling within the broad public-record definition. A specific exemption, sealing order, juvenile rule, privacy concern, or safety restriction can still limit disclosure.
The image may remain in the inmate file even after the live roster drops the person's name. Kentucky's county-jailer retention schedule lists inmate files, which can contain photographs, for five years after release. That makes a focused request more useful than searching a current-only screen.
A photo does not prove conviction, guilt, sentence length, release, or current supervision. Pair it with the Robertson court order and the BCRJ or KDOC release record.

VINELink is primarily a custody and notification service, not a historical mugshot archive. BCRJ's Facebook presence was not shown to publish routine booking or release photos.
The Sheriff Roster and Mobile App
The BCRJ Cadmus portal is labeled “Current Inmates.” A present booking may contain a photograph, but release can remove the record from the public view. The portal is not an official gallery of Robertson County released mugshots.
The current-inmate label is the key limit shown in the screen. Once a name is gone, use the inmate-file request rather than treating disappearance as proof of why custody ended.

An official agency release or reputable local report may carry a booking image tied to a real event. Preserve its date and context. An arrest photo is not a case outcome, and an old report does not establish current custody.

When a cached image conflicts with an official correction, the correction controls. Do not republish restricted material simply because another copy remains online.
Removing a Mugshot and the Effect of Expungement
An expungement order affects access according to Kentucky law and the order's terms. Take the entered order to the official custodians that hold the case and booking records. A person asking to correct a misidentified photograph should provide the booking identifier and reliable correction evidence.
Official offices must review the actual record and applicable restrictions. A broad request to “remove everything” is less useful than identifying the precise booking, source record, and order.
Robertson Mugshots and Paid Removal
KRS 61.8746 is narrower than a blanket Kentucky mugshot ban. It addresses specified publication or booking-photo websites that require payment or other consideration to remove a booking or inmate photograph.
The statute provides a circuit-court route for an injunction or other appropriate order and for costs and reasonable attorney fees in the stated circumstances. It does not automatically erase official agency records or legitimate reporting. It also does not make a payment-demanding removal service an endorsed route.
A source-level correction follows a different path. If the image is wrong or belongs to another person, send the booking identifier and correction evidence to the official custodian. When a Robertson County court has expunged the case, present the order to each relevant government record holder.
